No matter what we have done...

1. We admitted that we were powerless over our addiction, that our lives had become unmanageable.

2. We came to believe that Jesus Christ loves us, is omnipotent (all powerful) and has the power to restore us to sanity.

3. We made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of Jesus Christ.

4. We made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.

5. We admitted to Jesus, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.

6. We were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.

7. We humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.

8. We made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.

9. We made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.

10.               We continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it.

11.               We sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit: praying only for knowledge of God’s will for us and the power to carry that out.

12.               Having had a spiritual awakening as a result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to addicts, and to practice these principles in all our affairs.

These steps were formulated from the steps of many other 12 step programs. These steps were used for a very simple but powerful reason: they work!

These steps were altered to identify just who God is and illuminate the fact that God sent His son to the world to show man that God cannot lie, that He is not responsible for the many bad things that happen to us. We are!

Many people think that Christianity fails to bring about recovery in addicts like us. The truth is that Christianity does not fail; we do. A program that is only applied on Sunday, to people who do not really embrace the true principles of Christianity such as faith, love, forgiveness, generostiy and peace cannot succeed. However if we truly want TOTAL ABSTINENCE and truly desire the redemption that Christ offers we will succeed with a power that will show the world the true power and glory of God and His perfect love for us. We must endeavor and pray for the cleansing of our hearts, for the cure from addiction and truly desire to follow God's will. God's will for us can be found in His Book, the King James Version (KJV) of the Holy Bible.

People think that the KJV is difficult to understand but this book is truly the word of God. Once one knows the truly devout and God supported effort that translated the KJV one will know that only there can the English speaking human find the will of God! We will find that when we read the KJV with the faith and love of God that can free us from the evil of addiction, the Bible will become quite plain, will speak directly to each one of us and will provide us with turn by turn directions to a happy and full life here on Earth and an everlasting life in Heaven with Jesus and everyone else who found this blessing which Jesus gives us freely.

Recovery is a 24/7 effort which must be applied daily especially for the newcomer. We must do things everyday to shore up and protect our recovery! Prayer, Bible reading, and recovery oriented 12 step meetings will empower us, develop our faith and guide us toward a healing from addiction that only the God of the Bible can give us. When we waiver we must seek help from God, from each other and from the Bible!

God bless us - everyone!
