Fellow Addicts, prisoners and friends,
Today I looked at this page for the first time in a several months and I realized one thing: In my present life I have forgotten why I created this site and my promise to God. I have turned almost completely to the disease of addiction and I've forgotten the main reason I started this site i.e. prisoners. Once one has been released it is so easy to forget the tormented souls who remain incarcerated.
They are truly a forgotten segment of our population. Today I am asking God for direction and guidance and the best way to help prisoners, all prisoners not just the addicts.
I have been guilty of letting my focus drift. Surely I had to attend to my own problem which was and is addiction but someone has to do something to turn our prisoners into real correctional centers that release people equipped to live in our society, not recidivism candidates. Many inmates really should not be there in the first place, many are being exploited, many are being turned into career criminals and many should stay there for the rest of their lives. We need to deal with the residents of our prisons with compassion, with pragmatic and informed justice and with the sincere desire to do our best to see that those that are released have a fair chance to become productive members of our society.
